IMG_2482Want to hit the hottest event on February 5rd, 2014? Pavan, a Muscat Grape Orange Blossom Liqueur made its debut in the Sangria Semi-Finals in Williamsburg, Brooklyn where judges and public tasted sangria inspired by countries that the bartenders themselves would like to go to.

Pavan, named after the classic 16th century dance of the peacock, this liqueur is crafted with fine Muscat grapes from the renowned AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) region of Frontignan, where vineyards are surrounded by seaside air and gentle hills. 

If you missed that sweetly unique competition, do not worry as you’re in luck because the public can attend this competition at the Bowery Hotel after 7pm! Here you will taste original sangria recipes inspired by India, Morocco, Italy, Polynesia, and Iceland.

The finalists include:

These five national finalists will prepare their sangria for judges, industry professionals, and you of course! The panel of judges at the Challenge Finals includes acclaimed cocktail and spirits author Gaz Regan; Allen Katz, the Director of Mixology & Spirits Education for Southern Wine & Sprits of New York; Pamela Wiznitzer, President of United States Bartender Guild New York chapter and John DeBary, Bar Director for all Momofuku restaurants in New York.

During the event, the Bowery Hotel will serve the signature Pavan Sangria and Mediterranean-inspired dishes for guests to enjoy, and if its anything like the semi finals, then it will be beyond delicious!
