While visiting wineries in Ribera Del Duero, Cigales, Peñafiel, and other winery areas this summer, I was able to stay at some wonderful places. We started off in Pesquera del Duero, at La Cantamora, a quaint bed, and breakfast complete with a homey feel. The caretaker is wonderful and speaks both Spanish and English and is a wonderful hostess, who prepares delicious dinners and breakfasts. The accommodations are very comfortable and the wine, as well as the hospitality, is lovely. Many people stay here when on a wine tourism trip because it’s centrally located to some of the best wineries in Peñafiel as well as Tuerta del Duero.

Our second evening was a wonderful stay at a hotel and spa complete with two restaurants, a full spa complete with hot tubs, saunas, and swimming pools, as well as beautiful vineyard views. This is a five-star hotel, with extremely elegant accommodations. The Hotel and Spa Arzuaga in Quintanilla de Onésimo, Spain is one of the top hotels in the area. We were excited to dine at the restaurant, where we had a menu complete with Croquettes, Jamon and Foie Gras, Grilled Meat, Salad, and of course… plenty of Tempranillo! After a delicious dinner with vineyard facing views, we enjoyed an after-dinner Vermouth at the bar, before resting up. In the morning we had the luxury of going to the spa, for some R&R which was much needed during this busy wine-filled trip. The spa is extremely clean and well kept, with beautiful vineyard views and plenty of space. It’s quiet and serene and has a lot to offer depending on your spa needs.

If you’re looking to stay in wine country and want to visit some great spots, I highly recommend these two hotels. Both have a lot to offer, depending on your budget and needs. They are close to winery visits and other Enotourism attractions, so there is something for everyone.
