IMG_6164Larb Ubol in the garment district is great for when you want some Thai cuisine at appealing prices. Here you can have dinner for around $25/pp.  The dishes here are mild and spicy, but the German Riesling on the menu helps cut through the spice for those like me who need their spicy dishes a little mellowed.

The Papaya Salad’s are always a good start and the Som Tum Muar Zuar hits the spot. This salad is topped with shrimp, crispy BBQ pork, long beans, and tomatoes. This was also a fun pairing with some cold sake, which is how I usually choose to start my nights when dining out Asian.

IMG_6174They are known here for their duck dishes, which are sweet, spicy, and tender. The Duck Pad Ped is a perfect dish to share as an entrée so you can also get the Clams in a Brown Sauce. The clams are one of the best dishes on the menu, so I highly recommend ordering them.

IMG_6173These dishes are full of flavor and spicy enough to be Thai worthy, but not to a point where you will be sweating and suffering from numb tongue. That’s really what I love about Larb Ubol; the quality and essence make an ordinary evening a delectable one!
