Start Your Spring Baking!

IMG_9411Spring is here and its time to start baking, un-clearing winter clutter, and make room for the good stuff! With Easter this weekend and many holidays coming up, you’ll probably be in need of some good bakeware and fun flavors.

Chocolate walnut cupcakes and gourmet sugar make their debut on Somminthecity.com. What is gourmet sugar? Meso Nutso, a small company in Oregon started by Evangeline White. She is the owner of this creative company and I was so happy when I found her products. The Chocolate and Almond Sugar was tasty, especially because it was topped on the Chocolate Walnut Mousse. I used the Walnut Extract from Meso Nutso, which when combined with the smooth chocolate mousse, and the crunchy flavors in the sugar it equalled to a bunch of delicious bites!

IMG_9386How did I get the cupcakes so smooth, round, and without using the cupcake papers? Trudeau Silicone Muffin/Cupcake pans have a steel reinforced structure and rubberized rim, so it wont flop all over the place and ruin your hard work. The pan has a lifetime warranty and baked all my cupcakes evenly and perfectly. Trudeau is a brand I highly recommend when it comes to bakeware and cookware; I mean come on, look how great this spatula color is!
