IMG_4095Rios de Chile, a Chilean wine company that has won my heart recently and will surely win yours over too! This wine has not been offered in the US until now and luckily for you, you can read about it here on Somm In The City.

There is a saying in the wine industry: when looking for an amazing value, the best thing to do is “go south”.  –InVino.com

Why you ask? Well because these wines are very good and express a lot of fruit driven notes and quality. Lets start with the Chardonnay by Rios de Chile. You will read about these wines on this site throughout the year as I want to showcase all of them individually for you.

This Chardonnay shows notes of bright yellow apple, some slight citrus, pear, and peachier notes. On the palate you will find some tropical fruit notes and nice acidity. This wine is great for Chardonnay lovers who tend to like California and fruit forward whites.

Pair this wine with a nice Lobster Tail, Shrimp Pasta, or even Pad Thai (it can absolutely hold its own with some spicy food). I also love this wine with tempura, sushi, and even roasted pork dishes. If you’re cooking at home, a nice Cornish Hen with roasted vegetables would go great with this wine and will keep you warm in this chilly weather!

Always remember… eat what you like and drink what you love!
