Village Pisco, as part of Pisco Week is a pretty new Peruvian spot in the West Village. Opening just ten months ago, it’s already winning the hearts and stomachs of Peruvian cuisine lovers in NYC.
In honor of Pisco Week, I paid a visit to Floriza, Village Pisco’s Manager and Mixologist. Here she made me a delicious array of Pisco Cocktails. I started out with the most popular Peruvian cocktail, which is a Pisco Sour. This cocktail is delightful and refreshing with a nice egg white top and a few dashes of bitters, which she makes into hearts.
Peruvian cuisine is actually pretty comforting, and I dove right into the Salchipapas which are French Fries covered in Hot Dogs, with an array of Green, Yellow, and Orange Sauces. This dish is fun, delicious, and filling, which makes it perfect for a share! The Half Rotisserie Chicken Combo is a traditional Peruvian dish because Rotisserie Chicken is something they pride themselves in and do very well. The chicken here is moist and perfectly seasoned, and when accompanied by Yucca Fries, Rice, or Beans, this dish is complete!
