National Red Wine Day!

wine-wipes-single-pack1National Red Wine Day is here! Grab your Wine Wipes (for your teeth) and some of your favorite reds tonight to celebrate another delicious national food/drink day.

Here are some “sexier” reds for your Wine Wednesday that pair very well with Chocolate, Blue Cheese, and Bacon!

50-Shades-red-2009Fifty Shades of Grey: A Red Blend of Petit Syrah and Syrah, with aromas of dark fruit, vanilla, cocoa, and flavors of black cherry, leather, and clove. This wine deserves to be poured while devouring some adventurous chapters in this very famous book. While reading, enjoy a dark chocolate bar and welcome a new Red Wine Day tradition into your calendar!

Downton Abbey Claret Bordeaux

Downtown Abbey Bordeaux Claret: This wine is elegant and dry, with aromas of red berries, currants, and some spices. On the palate, floral notes come around with a smooth black currant finish. Enjoy this wine with some Blue Cheese or Charcuterie Board.

bott_VOGAdolcerosso

VOGA Italia’s Dolce Rosso: A nice blend of Syrah and Merlot, this wine offers plums, cherries, and dark fruit notes on the nose and palate. This wine is perfect by day, if you wanted to start your Happy Hour a little earlier today, but also can be enjoyed by night to happily end your Wine Wednesday.

BottleShot_VOGA_RedFusion_750 (2)VOGA Italia’s Red Fusion: These VOGA bottles are sleek and modern with blended grape varietals. This fusion is a blend of Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon that’s lively with aromas of blackberries, black cherries, and raspberry. The oak is present, but very well blended, as are the tannins in the wine. Pair this one with some Bacon Chocolate (recipe here) and you have yourself one very nice pairing!

Always remember, eat what you like and drink what you love. Please pair responsibly and have a wonderful National Red Wine Day!
