Mionetto ProseccoDo you love Prosecco? If so, this cocktail challenge is for you! Mionetto Prosecco USA announced the call for submissions for the second annual ‘Mionetto Cocktail Challenge.’  The brand is working in partnership with Time Inc.’s Food & Wine, and contestants across the country will be able to submit an original Mionetto sparkling cocktail recipe into one of two groups: bartending professionals and consumers (intended for the general public).

After narrowing down the submissions, the top three finalists in each category will be invited to a special mix-off event at the Food & Wine test kitchen in New York City! The professional champion will be featured in Food & Wine and the consumer champion will receive a trip for two to Italy to visit the land of Prosecco! Finalists will be determined by Justin Noel, top NYC-based mixologist, Food & Wine editor, and Enore Ceola, managing director and CEO of Mionetto USA.

Mionetto ProseccoCucumber Fizz- By Patti Scarff, Kalamazoo, MI
Ingredients
– 2 basil leaves
– 3 thin slices of cucumber
– 1 oz. gin
– 1 oz. simple syrup
– 3 oz. Mionetto Prosecco DOC Treviso Brut
Glassware: coupe
Preparation
1.Muddle basil and cucumber, and then shake with gin, simple syrup, and ice.
2.Strain into a coupe and top with Mionetto Prosecco.
3.Garnish with a basil leaf.

Pompelmo Spruzzo- By Dassy Pawlik, Buffalo, NY
Mionetto ProseccoIngredients
– 1 oz. Campari
– 1 oz. Vodka
– Juice of 1/2 pink grapefruit
– Mionetto Prosecco DOC Treviso Brut
– Grapefruit slice and mint sprig for garnish
Glassware: stemless wine glass
Preparation
1.Combine first three ingredients in a cocktail shaker , shake and pour over ice.
2.top off with Mionetto Prosecco.
3.Garnish with a section of pink grapefruit and a sprig of mint.
