Rosé was the talk of the town Friday and Saturday June 13th and 14th for the La Nuit en Rosé cruise. This predominantly pink party was filled with light bites and of course Rosé! Here wine lovers tasted through 85 Rosés where each had its own style and flare.
Some of this Somm’s top picks of the evening were:
Mulderbosch, this South African rose is striking and full of strawberry and raspberry aromas with a nice crisp palate.
Omina Romana, a Rosato Merlot was another top choice, as this wine had the body of a merlot, color of rosé (of course), and was dry, yet playful with just a hint of residual sugar on the tongue.
Berlucchi, a wonderful Franciacorta from Italy also made an appearance and was all gone before we even docked for the evening (its that good)! This gorgeous sparkling wine was a favorite of many for the evening.
Santa Digna, a Miguel Torres wine made an appearance, not only on this site twice but also at the rosé tasting and was as delicious as it always it. Fun, bubbly, and beautiful!
Wine filled the boat, and we sailed along the NYC skyline and to the Statue of Liberty. The views were beautiful, the boat was spacious and lively, and even boozy ice cream and sorbet by Melissa Tavss of Tipsy Scoop made an appearance! Here she made a Whispering Angel sorbet to keep the theme going the entire evening.
This was the first annual Rosé cruise, so hopefully they will be back next year as this was one event not to miss!
