Wine connoisseurs and foodies gather round because this event is one not to miss if you live near or can get to the East End of Long Island, NY. Harvest East End, an event in which I featured on the site last year, has re-named itself Dan’s Harvest East End due to the partnership with Long Island’s weekly newspaper, Dan’s Papers.
Dan’s Taste of Summer, where more than 2,000 hungry “hamptonites”, came to eat the best bites of the East End, Dan’s Paper is excited to be the managing editor and partner in summer’s next hot event! Celebrating the large number Long Island Wineries is just one of the many specialties of this event. Nearly 40 wineries and 20 top East End Chefs will team up to showcase Long Island’s best by pairing local wines with local flavors. This wine focused affair will welcome back Joshua Wesson, Sommelier and Wine Enthusiast, to lead the event and honor, Florence Fabricant as well, who is a longtime New York Times dining columnist. Chef and Restaurateur Tom Schaudel from Long Island will also be there who has contributed his food and wine culture to the area.
The elegant affair will also include a silent auction featuring Jeroboams (holding 4-6 bottles), bottled especially for the event by participating wineries. Now, because I always love to mention some great pairings, this outstanding event will be sponsored by many companies, one in which is a Premium Sponsor: Master Purveyors. They will be offering grilled dry-aged sirloin, skirt steaks, and lamb medallions the entire event. These great quality cuts of meat will be paired and served with some stunning Long Island Wines as well!
Dan’s HARVEST EAST END will return to it’s roots at McCall Vineyards and Ranch in Cutchogue, NY on Saturday, August 23rd. Those of you who can go… this is one event you can not miss!
