I can only keep praising the cuisine that is served at The Lodge at Woodloch, in Hawley, PA. This top spa offers some of the best organic farm to table cuisine with vegan and vegetarian options that will wow your palate each and every day.

Breakfast is always a delight, starting at 7:30am. You can enjoy farm fresh eggs, bacon, turkey sausage, omelettes, french toast, sweet yet healthy options, an even a DIY oatmeal and yogurt bar! I always enjoy the breakfast here, and this year I was open to trying more than my usual egg scramble, potatoes, and bacon (although I totally went for the side of bacon both days). The Goat Cheese and Green Onion Omelette was a winner this year for me, along with the Sweet Potato, Butternut Squash, and Kale Hash topped with a Fried Egg. Both breakfast options were delightfully filling and absolutely delicious.

Lunch is served daily from 11:30am-2pm and includes daily specials, perfect portions, house made soups, a salad bar, and dessert. During the stay we enjoyed lunch items such as the Whole Wheat Ham and Cheese Croissant with Dijon Mustard, Edamame, and Terra Chips, Carrot Ginger Soup, and the Edamame Dumplings, which I am slightly addicted to. I had told my sister about the dumplings the year before when I visited, so seeing them on the menu again was deliciously exciting! Day two of lunch, enjoyed the lunch special of Shrimp Stir Fry as well as the Pulled Pork Sandwich, which were both out of this world, yum. The Sport Tea is the most popular drink during lunch time, while people are in between workouts, spa treatments, and activities, however I always seem to make my way to the cocktail list and enjoy a Zen Cosmo with lunch, which is refreshing and enjoyable.

Dinner here at The Lodge at Woodloch is always a pleasure and never seems to disappoint. Each person can enjoy three courses plus dessert, which can be a tough decision due to all the wonderful looking options. The first night I enjoyed a Washington State Sparkling Rosé paired with Crispy Pork Belly, while my mother and sister enjoyed the Loaded Potatoes and Beef Skewers as their starters. The salads here are creative and healthy, and change daily (as does most of the dinner menu). The Beet Salad with Mandarin Oranges was tangy, earthy, and just a little bit sweet, while the Romaine Salad was perfectly crunchy and topped with parmesan shavings and house made croutons. For the main courses I of course, went with the Duck Breast with Kale and Potatoes, while my mother and sister opted for the Filet Mignon with Gorgonzola Butter, Glazed Carrots, and Whipped Potatoes. Both options were absolutely delicious and paired beautifully with my sparkling wine, however the reds by the glass and bottle list would have also surely paired well with any of the menu options. Night two, we decided on Crispy Brussels Sprouts, the Creamy French Onion Soup, and a Balsamic Vegetable Flat Bread. The creamy soup was like nothing I have ever tasted, and I couldn’t help but devour every last drop! For the salad option, I chose the Mixed Greens topped with a Quail Egg and Chickpeas, which was a delightful course in between my creamy soup and luscious Rack of Lamb. My mother and sister also enjoyed the Strip Steak with Fingerling Potatoes, and Short Ribs with Broccoli Rabe and Whipped Potatoes. As a vegetarian option (and because it’s always so hard to choose just one dish) I also was able to try the Cauliflower Steak which is a filling and wonderful healthy option that I would absolutely order again.

Desserts are also a must order when here for anyone with a sweet tooth. If i’m on vacation I will usually order a dessert if I know it’s something worth it… and here the desserts are worth every calorie! Perfectly portioned using organic ingredients, I highly recommend the Breakfast for Dessert, which is Corn Cake topped with Candied Bacon and Vanilla Ice Cream, as well as the Dessert Tacos. The tacos were seasonally sweet, and filled with Cinnamon Roasted Apple Slices, Almonds, and a Cinnamon Cream. If you seek a vegan option, the Lodge has you covered where my sister enjoyed a Vegan Chocolate Mousse that any choco-holic would love!

Not only is The Lodge at Woodloch a top spa destination, but it’s also a great gourmet destination as well! I highly recommend almost anything on the menu here and have honestly never been disappointed here.
