Do you dare to pair your chips and sips? I recently went to a delicious event with Ruffles Chips where they paired chips with beer. In the Garden Room at The Standard beer writers, enthusiasts, and industry professionals gathered to enjoy a very fun and playful pairing. Chips and sips lined up six beers with the top three Ruffles flavors. The lineup of pairings went as followed…

Bacon and Brew: 21st Amendment Free! Or Die IPA paired with the Loaded Bacon and Cheddar Potato Skin Chips. This pairing worked well, as the bite from the IPA paired with the bacon and cheddar flavors in the chips.

Buckshot and Bacon: Natty Greene’s Buckshot Amber paired with the Loaded Bacon and Cheddar Potato Skin Chips. This pairing was fun too, and the bacon really highlighted the notes in the amber ale.

Potato Skins and Pils:Great Lakes Brewing Co. Turntable Pilsner paired with the Loaded Bacon and Cheddar Potato Skin Chips.

Hot and Helles: Community, Texas Helles with Flamin’ Hot® Chips. This pairing worked well, however I think that these flamin’ hot chips need a milk stout or something creamier to offset the spice.

Sour Cream and Skull: Red Brick Brewing, Laughing Skull Amber Ale with Cheddar & Sour Cream Chips. A fun pairing that went well together, but then again almost everything goes well with the delicious cheddar and sour cream chips; which happen to be my favorite flavor of the entire line!

For those of you looking for some fun summer pairings, I recommend trying a Chips and Sips party! It’s a great activity for those 21+ who enjoy beer and Ruffles. I happened to really enjoy this pairing for it’s easiness and pair-ability. Football Season is upon us, with Preseason starting already, so break out your favorite brews, grab some chips, and open your world to an array of fun and delicious pairings!

Always remember, eat what you like and drink what you love. Please pair responsibly.
