Crown Maple Flautas!

Flautas can be filled, stuffed, and accompanied by many things. Pairing them with wine and cocktails is another story and certainly one I want to share with you. Crown Maple Syrup, a delectable treat that is more than just the perfect pancake or French toast topper. You can see a great dessert using Crown Maple in this Somm’s Bacon & Bourbon Corncake, but if your not into sweets, or want something a little more unique, then you must try this new dish!

IMG_2861  Crown Maple Flautas! Using Wegman’s Organic Ground Beef and Crown Maple Syrup for a touch of sweetness, you can take your meal to a whole other level. The Dark Amber syrup was perfect for the meat, with the addition of some turmeric, onions, tomatoes, and cayenne pepper, this salty, sweet, and spicy dish was out of this would yum!

To make this dish even sweeter, the addition of the Light Amber was the perfect touch for the Corn Salsa. This recipe is simple, quick, and a great treat for any night of the week.

Pair this with a 2013 DMZ South African dmzCabernet Rose from Cape Classica. This wine is young with lots of personality. It was perfect with the turmeric syrup sauce, sweet corn salsa, and pan-fried flautas!
