Hello Spring! Even though we are quarantined to our homes, it’s still ok to think about celebrating spring and all that it has to offer. This is the perfect time of year to clean, find a new hobby, go for more walks outdoors, and be out in nature (just six feet apart from others). I always love a sunny weekend afternoon where its comfortable enough to sit outside and enjoy the sun with a bottle of rosé!

To bring some sunshine into your home this spring, I wanted to share some exciting rosés that I really enjoy. Château Minuty, is an iconic producer of Côtes de Provence rosé. I have not met a Minuty rosé I didn’t like, because this winery is simply one of the best! The classic Minuty is light and refreshing with bright strawberry, citrus, and floral aromas. On the palate, it is crisp and dry with striking fruit and minerality. This is the perfect wine to sip outdoors, with seafood, and light bites. The winery also has some other labels and is introducing a new one to the US: Minuty Prestige Rosé. This is a gorgeous wine that instantly transports you to the French Riviera. It’s delicate and refreshing, and on the market now for you to enjoy outdoors, indoors, online with friends, and everything in between.

The family-owned Minuty estate has been sustainably producing high-quality rosé wines in the classic Provençal style for more than 80 years. I have tasted them the past few years when the brand hosts events in NYC and I always find that these wines make me incredibly happy. As mentioned above, I have not tasted one I haven’t liked yet, and what I enjoy most are their pair-ability and freshness. You can sip Minuty any time of day (within reason) and it’s always crisp and delightful. François Matton, third-generation family owner and winemaker of Château Minuty, and is encouraging you to sip and become transported to France virtually for now.

The 2019 lineup

2019 Minuty: The OG, and one of the simplest expressions from the winery. A refreshing sip that’s perfect for a picnic, brunch, or an afternoon movie. This is one of my favorite wines to break out when I have friends coming over and want to offer them an aperitif that’s delicious but simple.

2019 Rosé et Or: Citrus and white floral notes with complexity and plenty of freshness. It has a bit more personality and nice white grapefruit and peach notes. On the palate, it’s simply delicious and pairs nicely with pork tacos, skirt steak, and grilled fish!

Château Minuty 281:  The elegant blue cascading down the bottle catches your eye before you get the pleasure of tasting a wonderful glass of this limited release wine. The wine is from 25-year-old Grenache vines, with nice minerality influence from the ocean. It’s a pale color with an intense nose and deep fruit flavors with a nice finish. Overall this is a wine for the true wine lover, and should be enjoyed with good company and great food!

2019 Minuty Prestige: Made from Grenache, Cinsault, Tibouren, and Syrah grapes, this wine is powerful with hints of citrus and red berries. On the palate its pleasant with nice notes of flowers and melon that follow from the nose. This wine pairs nicely with Asian cuisine as well as seafood and stuffed vegetables.

Whether you’re simply searching for more wine to add to your stash, or a fan of rosé, if you haven’t tried Château Minuty, you must! These wines are perfect for spring and summer, and since we may be quarantined a little longer, you might as well be stuck at home with great wine!

Always remember, eat what you like and drink what you love. Please pair responsibly!
