Sparkling Wine Guide!

The Holiday’s are here! With only 5 days until Christmas and 11 until New Year’s Eve, it’s time to stock up on those sparkling wines! Whether you have some last minute holiday parties, are stocking up for your own party, or thinking of what to bring the host/hostess, there’s a great bubbly in this guide for everyone. 

Jaume Serra Cristalino Cava: Simple and refreshing, this Cava from Spain is perfect for your holiday Poinsettia cocktails, mimosa’s, and sparkling holiday sangria!  It’s dry, fresh, and citrus forward with a mild bread like palate and elegant finish. Vilarnau Brut Reserva: Vilarnau is a small, artisanal, handcrafted cava house from outside of Barcelona, dating back to 1949. The bottles are stunning with colorful designs, that reflect the avant-garde imagery of Antoni Gaudí. $14.99

Vilarnau Rose Brut Reserva: Again, another beautiful bottle of vibrant, colorful designs that make the bottle look like it costs so much more than it is. This bottle reminds me of when I was in Barcelona. The colors and vibrancy are also what you will taste in the bottle. This rose is absolutely fantastic with cheeses and appetizers! $15.99

Celene Crémant De Bordeaux: Made from 50% Semillon, 30% Muscadelle, and 20% Cabernet Franc, this sparkling French wine from Bordeaux is absolutely stunning and unique compared to other crémants. However, like other crémants, it is produced using the traditional method and aged 12 months. $15.99

Jaillance Crémant De Bordeaux: Made from a white Bordeaux blend, this wine is perfect for holiday parties and tables. It’s fresh and fruit- forward with some slight yeast notes and generous floral and citrus aromas. On the palate, it is lively and refreshing with a nice finish. $16

Mionetto Prosecco Superiore DOCG: Mionetto is another well known and loved Prosecco that absolutely deserves recognition. This wine is more refined and delicate in style compared to other Mionetto Prosecco’s making it a great gift or holiday party wine. It’s fun, fresh, and complex with a lot to offer. $16.99

Bortolin Angelo Prosecco Superiore DOCG: This Prosecco comes from grapes that are picked exclusively in the Valdobbiadene D.O.C.G. region. Its fruity dry aroma and delicate taste make it suitable both as an aperitif and to accompany any meal. Break out this bubbly for your Christmas celebrations or NYE pre-game. It’s quite friendly and soft with plenty of fruit-forward notes. $16.99

Valdo Prosecco Oro Puro, Superiore DOCG: This Prosecco is made from 100% Glera grapes. Valdo was started in 1926 by the Societa Anonima Vini Superiori and purchased by the Bolla Family in the 1940’s. Since it has been one of the #1 selling Prosecco in Italy for over 15 years. This wine is floral and fruity with apple and pear notes. On the palate, it is dry and playful with a nice finish. $19.99

Jaillance Crémant de Bordeaux, Cuvée de l’Abbaye Rosé: Made from Merlot grapes, this is a rich and luscious salmon-colored wine with bright red fruit aromas and hints of menthol. On the palate, it’s balanced with a nice amount of acidity, and strawberry and vanilla notes. $19.95 

Prosper Maufoux Crémant De Bourgogne: This wine comes from a traditional family-owned wine house in the beautiful village of Santenay, in the south of the Cote de Beaune since 1860. The skills and winemaking at Prosper Maufoux have been at the service of a wide range of Burgundian appellations. Since then, the family has sourced grapes and aged wines amongst the best climates in Burgundy, with the aim to honor the Burgundian terroirs expression. $21.99

Sterling Vineyards Blanc de Blancs 2016: Made from 100% Napa Valley Chardonnay, pours a glistening pale straw color with ribbons of fine bubbles. The aromas of green apple, lemon citrus, pear and lemon cream are distinct. The palate is fresh with fruit-forward flavors, floral notes, and a soft, creamy texture. This is a sophisticated and elegant wine with balanced fruit, structure, and acidity. $28

Sterling Vineyards Sparkling Rosé 2016: A blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir, fermented in stainless steel to maintain freshness, with limited skin contact to give it body and depth. An elegant pale salmon pink color in the glass, with fresh aromas of strawberry, cherry blossom, rose petal and crisp apple with balanced creamy texture and bright acidity. $28

Yarden Blanc de Blancs: This is a sparkling wine from Israel! I love Golan Height’s Winery and when I heard they produce a sparkling wine, I knew I had to try it! This wine is made from Chardonnay grapes and features aromatic lemon zest characters that are rounded out with aromas of fresh flowers and green apples. On the palate, it’s lively with hints of flint and fresh baguette. $30.99

AÑ Verdejo Brut Nature: Unique and not available everywhere, but accessible. This wine from Rueda, Spain is one not to miss when you can find it! Made from Verdejo grapes, this beautiful bubbly is a pale lemon color with a fruity nose and outstanding balance. On the palate, it is bright and engaging with a lot to offer. $35

Yarden Brut Rose: Another wonderful Rose from Israel! Both wines made the list this year because I find them both very interesting, fun, and a great way to begin a new year! This wine is made from chardonnay and pinot noir grapes and has striking aromas of strawberry, red apple, lemon, and floral characters. The palate is layered with hints of crusty baguette, red fruit, and flowers. $39.99

André Jacquart Premier Cru, Blanc de Blancs: Made from 100% Chardonnay, this beautiful sparkling wine complex and traditional with bright floral aromas and fruit-forward notes. On the palate, it is dry and elegant with a vibrant mouthfeel and pretty finish. $44
