Sautéed Sea Scallops over thinly sliced Prosciutto, a bed of Arugula, Melon, and Apples, drizzled with a tangy dressing. This was just one of the many dishes at the Sea Fire Grill that you need to try. This Midtown seafood spot features an award winning wine list with wines by the glass that made this Somm jump with joy!
The ambiance is sleek and sexy with gorgeous chandeliers, white linen tablecloths, and five star table service. For starters, guests are greeted with a warm breadbasket of fresh baked Rosemary Focaccia and White Fish Spread that is so delicious, I could have totally eaten the entire dish with a spoon!
Because I wanted to have a fun pairing dinner, I tried the Love Potion 2 & 1/3 cocktail, which was bright with flavors of Melon, Grey Goose Piore, and Citrus. This fun drink paired perfectly with the Scallop appetizer I had, because the salty prosciutto mixed with the melon and arugula made this cocktail pop with flavor. The meaty, perfectly browned sea scallops, mellowed out the fruit flavors so beautifully that this was a fun, funky, absolutely delicious pairing.
Onward to the entrée, which I had been so excited for once I viewed the menu. Shrimp Scampi over Linguini, Tomatoes, and diced Zucchini, paired perfectly with the Nigl Zweigelt Rosé. The second I saw this wine on the list, I had to have it. This wine is bright with aromas of fresh strawberry, sweet cherry, and flower blossoms; absolutely beautiful.
After an amazing first two courses, there was no question I had to have dessert. The Flourless Chocolate Cake with Red Velvet Ice Cream was to die for. Paired with this dish was an Ice Wine and the combination of the two, were strikingly beautiful together.
For you fine dining seafood fans, this restaurant is a must try. The menu, service, ambiance, and overall experience will win your heart as this place did mine. I will absolutely be back very soon… and next time, I’m having the lobster!
Always remember… eat what you like, and drink what you love!
