Mortons the Steakhouse Logo          We all know that Restaurant Week offers fantastic deals and gives consumers options to dine at places they usually don’t get to go to. I gave it a try this week and could not resist the wonderful Restaurant Week package at Morton’s Steakhouse! Now, Morton’s happens to be one of my go to steak house places in NYC because every time I am there I have the ultimate experience, so it was no surprise this was my choice.

Morton’s takes the traditional steakhouse and creates an upscale atmosphere but with a very relaxed ambiance. The restaurant week menu was three courses for $38.00! How could you resist a perfectly cooked Filet Mignon for that price? Their options are great because guests are allowed to choose any salad on the menu, or their Five Onion Soup. The soup is deliciously filled with tons of onions and melted cheese; the absolute perfect way to begin a meal.

IMG_0303They offered a lot of entrée options which was a pleasant surprise and included Salmon, Stuffed Shrimp, Pork Chops, and of course the 6oz Filet Mignon. Perfectly cooked and medium rare, this was exactly what I expected and did receive from Morton’s. With a side of Sour Cream Mashed Potatoes, and a glass of Cabernet, I was in heaven. For dessert, as part of the 3 course menu deal, I received the Key Lime Pie. It was creamy, tangy, and had a perfect crust; it was bliss with every bite!  IMG_0311

Besides the great meal experience, the extra special touch Morton’s has is their staff. Our server Matt was a doll and let me take my time with the wine list. I was fortunate enough to meet one of the Sommeliers who is also a Captain, Sean Cunningham, who is a long time staff member of Morton’s and actually helped open the Morton’s in the World Trade Centers! He started working for Morton’s while studying in Hawaii and is now the Sommelier in NYC. Sean is a charming man and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to Morton’s and wine. I was lucky enough to get a private tour from Sean himself and got to view the restaurants corporate dining and boardrooms! Absolutely stunning artwork, décor, and chandeliers filled these boardrooms and created an ambiance like no other.

Be sure to check them out this week for Restaurant Week, going on until August 16th. There’s still some time! If you can’t make it in for the Restaurant Week deal, Morton’s has a fantastic menu in general and a fun bar bites menu that you must try for a happy hour or late night bite.
