Imagine stepping into a dimly lit beach fantasy. White sand, art, flowers, trees draped with beautiful lights, tables with linens, and the ocean staring straight back at you. You sit down to have a fantastic meal on the beach, enjoy a nice crisp glass of wine, and listen to the waves crash 100 feet before you. This paradise is in Aruba; really just a quick plane ride away.
Old Man & The Sea is a Restaurant and Luxury Bed & Breakfast. Not only can you dine here, but you can stay in one of the fabulous villas and really have a private, relaxing experience.
First the food: Osyth Henriquez is my favorite Chef and Artist on the Island. I met this talented woman last year in Aruba where she hosted me for dinner at Casa Alistaire, her first venture, and another successful private home she owns. Here at Old Man & The Sea I enjoyed Shrimp Caprese with Balsamic Glaze, Pineapple Curry Shrimp with Caribbean Rice. I loved the presentation and how it was stuffed into a pineapple, and the dish was out of this world, yum!
As the sun was fully set and the stars came out to play, I enjoyed some of Osyth’s Seafood Bouillabaisse! This was a fun Caribbean inspired dish filled with flavors of coconut, lime, and some spice!
For dessert, the Fried Oreos are a perfect share, as is the Banana’s Foster.
Now, about the properties: Both Casa Alistaire and Old Man Restaurant are down the street from each other, so it’s perfect for bigger parties, weddings, events, and even intimate weekends.
The Honeymoon Suite- This magical and intimate oasis is perfect for those who love the outdoors but want to sleep in luxury. The outdoor shower and shell sink spout are just a few of the many beautiful touches Osyth’s artistic imagination created.
