MAMO, located on West Broadway in between Grand and Canal Street offers a delightful dining experience. Here you will taste and savor delicious Italian and Provençal cuisine right in the heart of SOHO, NYC. The food, service, and ambiance make Mamo a perfect spot for gathering with friends, enjoying a date night, hosting a lavish cocktail party, or enjoying Restaurant Week (until August 18th, 2017).
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mamo, where I enjoyed a refreshing start with an Al Pichilli cocktail and a Mamo Spritz . The spiciness in the Al Pichilli cocktail makes it a perfect aperitif and really got my palate in the mood for some incredible cuisine. I started off with the Calamarata, with pesto, cherry tomatoes, and olives. The squid was beautifully done and dressed with just the right amount of pesto. The appetizers here are great for sharing, and can be split table side, which is an elevated service they offer. For the second course, I enjoyed the Lobster Pasta, which is delicious, fresh, and filling! This dish gives you roughly half a lobster for your pasta, making it well worth the $40.
After the lovely pasta course, came the main courses. I enjoyed the Rack of Lamb with Crispy Potatoes, as well as the Beef Filet with Gorgonzola Cream Sauce and Crispy Potatoes. Paired was a 2015 Montepulciano, which went beautifully with both the dishes. I was in between in my choice for a bit while dining here, since they also have a Mamo Burger, which is Wagyu Beef Burger with fresh truffles, foie gras, and Mamo gravy!
Sadly I was too full for dessert, but after experiencing and tasting some appetizers, a pasta, and two main courses, I know for sure dessert would have rocked. Mamo is a wonderful SOHO spot with a delectable menu, great wine list, and creative cocktail menu. Everyone is very friendly and the staff makes you feel warm and welcome. Without a doubt, if you dine here I guarantee you will have a wonderful time!
