Lunch in Paris, in NYC!

Sick of bringing your lunch to work every day but also don’t want to overspend on “just ok” cuisine? Try having lunch in “Paris” while never leaving beautiful NYC! I recently visited Boucherie, in Union Square for a #LunchInParis where I enjoyed delicious Parisian dishes and some rosé. Boucherie has two locations, one in the West Village, and the other in Union Square. Both offer delicious lunch and dinner options as well as a stellar weekend brunch.

When you arrive, you will be impressed with the French ambiance, Parisian cafe-style seating, and a nice wall of windows which is perfect for people watching. I recommend starting with a glass of wine and the rosé from Provence was a great choice. It’s bright and floral with nice robust strawberry and raspberry notes. This easily paired with the Foie Gras ($16) appetizer, which is out of this world amazing. Creamy and delicious Foie Gras paired with Braised Red Onions, a touch of sea salt, and nice grilled bread; it’s sensational! I also wanted to try some other options, and find that my eyes are always much bigger than my stomach. Luckily here everything is good portion sized, but can also be shared with friends. I was really in the mood for truffles at the time, and if you’re a truffle fan like I am, you must order the Wagyu Truffle Burger ($21)! It’s a delectable large burger topped with caramelized onions, aged gruyere cheese, and is served open-faced with a generous portion of black truffles! The fries that come along are perfectly cooked, and out of this world as well. The beef is juicy and the truffle is not overpowering, but really hits the spot (I ate every single bite). If you’re more into pasta, however, Raviolis aux Champignons ($19) is absolutely one of a kind. It is a nice plate of mushroom ravioli topped with black truffle beuree fondue and topped with more shaved black truffles. This dish is comforting and filling, and I decided to share it plus the burger, which was ideal for lunch.

If you have room, however, I recommend the Crêpes Suzette ($15), which is enough to share, super delicious, and accompanied by vanilla bean ice cream. This dessert is heavenly, with just the right amount of Grand Marnier and nothing too overpowering. Our server Slobodan was very helpful in helping us decide what to get from the delicious menu options. He was very descriptive and showed passion when describing the dishes, which is huge thumbs up for me because I have a hard time choosing when everything looks so good.

If you’re looking for a great spot to bring your colleagues on your lunch break, or simply want to step out of the norm and go to a different spot for lunch, I highly recommend Boucherie. It’s a restaurant that will “transport you to Paris”, and still have you back in time for your 3 pm Manhattan meeting!
