Labor Day is this weekend and its time to get some good wines! Whether you are heading to a beach, attending a BBQ, grilling at home, and or having a picnic, there is a wine at a great price for any activity you choose.

Great Grilling Wines: BBQ pairings can be confusing to most, but this Labor Day it doesn’t have to be. These wines are easy to drink, great prices, and quality driven. Be the best BBQ host/hostess or guest with these fun weekend wines!

image002Josh Cellars: The Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay are fruit forward (but not sweet), and image006will pair well with the hot sun, a comfy chair, and some light bites for your Labor Day. If you enjoy reds, the Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir are great with grilled steaks, BBQ chicken, and any type of skewers!

Riunite: This Lambrusco is a great BBQ wine that’s playful and sweet with low alcohol so you can keep the festivities going all afternoon into the night.

image009Cliffhanger Vineyards: Mezzacorona recently introduced these wines into the US and they are wonderful weeknight and weekend wines. The Pinot Grigio is light and fun with the perfect amount of acidity to pair with some Shrimp Skewers, Grilled Vegetables, and or even some chips and dip! The Red Blend is perfect for any grilled meats or veggie burgers, and is dry, full bodied, and smooth.

Whether you choose to go on a picnic, have a beach day, or anywhere you want to sip and savor the sun outside without a BBQ (especially if you live in NYC), there are wines for you so do not worry.

Stemmari Wines:

Baci Vivaci: This light and slightly bubbly wine is perfect for a picnic and long weekend. Dry, but playful this one is fun in the sun and is refreshing, fragrant, and fruity.

Stemmari’s Dalila: Notes of tropical fruit and jasmine make this a fun aromatic wine. Best with some Lobster Rolls and Cheeses, which are perfect for a picnic day in Central Park, or really anywhere, you can throw down a blanket and enjoy the wonderful weather.

download (10)Underwood (Cans): Found at the Chelsea Wine Vault and many other states on the East Coast, these fun “canned” wines are great when you want to be a little more discreet, but still have your wine. The Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris are great when paired with light picnic fare and tapas, and because the can is lined, there’s no need to worry about any flavor changes.

2013_RoseThese are just a few of many wines to choose from. For you Rosé lovers, here’s also a list of my top 5 rosés for summer sipping!

DMZ Cabernet Rosé: This South African wine is full of watermelon, strawberry, and some well balanced acidity.

Lavau: A Tavel Rosé is just what you need sipping in some nice sun. Revealing intense fruit notes and well balanced acidity, Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault grapes make this wine a fun one!

Marrenon Petula Luberon Rosé: Syrah and Grenache Noir, this wine is light pink with berries and spices; perfect for some fun daring pairings.

Rosa Regale: Sweet strawberries and playful bubbles make this low alcohol wine perfect for day drinking. Ruby color with hints of rose, strawberry, and preserves seduce your palate.

Early Mountain Vineyards Rosé: Yes, I chose a Virginia wine! This Merlot Rose is fun and full of strawberries, ripe melon, and hints of fennel.

Have a wonderful Labor Day everyone, and Please Pair Responsibly!
