Somm In The City was born out of pure desire to make food and wine pairings fun, as well as explore the world of food, wine, and spirits. “As a Sommelier, I am expected to know about cocktails, cigars, food pairings, and wine… so I wanted to create something meaningful but easy enough to decipher, so readers and consumers could feel comfortable around these subjects.” Sara received her Sommelier training and certification in Germany, at The German Wine School, in Koblenz, and then went on to the WSET Level 3 Advanced Certification in Wine and Spirits. Prior to that she worked as a Pastry Chef for eight years and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Pastry Arts, Food Service Management, and Entrepreneurship from Johnson & Wales University.
“I worked through the ranks in the restaurant starting off as a Pastry Cook and moving up to Restaurant Management, Event Management, and Wine Director. I now have the absolute pleasure of working in Luxury Real Estate, where I am a Lifestyle Director and Private Sommelier of a Luxury Residential High Rise!”
Sara has perfected her craft and currently lives in New York City as a Sommelier for a boutique wine stores as well as a wine educator, menu consultant, and Wine Ambassador/Educator with City Wine Tours.
