Davidoff of Geneva recently opened in Downtown NYC, and to commemorate the opening of this new flagship store: Davidoff of Geneva- since 1911 has commissioned “The NYC Downtown Exclusive” cigar. This cigar is an elegant Belicoso (cigar that tapers at the head) format with sweet notes of coffee, leather and some spice, leading to more intense notes of wood and sweet roasted nuts. The toasty notes that entice your palate are complimented by a beautiful aroma of honey, wood, and earth. The NYC Downtown Exclusive is only available at the Downtown store in the Financial District. This luxury cigar store is simply stunning with lounge style seating, a walk in humidor filled with only the finest cigars, and plenty of room to sit back, relax, and enjoy a smoke.
The opening event was filled with loyal customers, cigar aficionados, and CAMUS Cognac fans who enjoy pairing the spirit with the NYC Downtown Exclusive cigar. As many of you may know from my posts, I am a cigar fan! Growing up with a father, who (once I was old enough) taught me how to cut, light, and smoke a cigar is where my passion stems from. Cigar making is an art form and for those that smoke, i’m sure you appreciate the craft that is this industry. From cultivating the finest tobacco to manufacturing, curing, fermenting, and hand rolling, the process of producing a premium hand rolled cigar is something to really value.
Camus Cognac was in attendance and mixing up the Catador cocktail which won over the large crowd that came out to this new store opening. Thanks to Camus, below is the recipe:
2 oz CAMUS VS Cognac
5 dashes Angostura bitters
½ oz Honey Syrup (½ water / ½ honey)
Orange zest garnish
Method of Preparation: Load all ingredients into mixing glass. Add ice and stir. Strain into rocks glass and garnish with orange zest and cherry.
