IMG_1656Recently, some professionals in the wines and spirits industry were fortunate enough to meet and taste some amazing Cava with Pere Ventura, of Pere Ventura Cava, in Spain. The bubbly happy hour was held at none other than La Cava, on Second Avenue, in NYC.

Here we tasted a Rosé, a Vintage Cava, and a Brut. These wines are absolutely gorgeous, so full of fruit, toast, and brioche. The rosé of course happened to be my favorite, as most rosé’s are, but the vintage came in a close second to winning my heart. An array of Charcuterie, Panini’s, and other appropriate Tapas were arranged on the table, while we all chatted with Pere himself, and heard his wonderful stories about how his cava came about.

These wines are on the pricier side, but for a great cava…it’s totally worth it. The wines are wonderful aperitifs but also make incredible food wines that you will want to drink over and over again. Thanks to Palm Bay International, meeting Pere was the highlight to my Wine Wednesday!
