Champagne Jacquart

champagne jacquartI had the pleasure of having lunch with some wonderful women in the wine industry as well as Winemaker, Floriane Eznack, of Champagne JacquartI always love when winemakers come to the city to visit with industry and media like myself. Floraine guided lunch guests through a Champagne tasting at Claudette, in the Flamingo Room. This restaurant is a great spot for winemakers to come to because the flamingo room (private space downstairs) is private and quiet.

The Champagne Jacquart lineup included:

Champagne Jacquart Mosaic Brut- “A wine for all times”! This wine is not only great for a celebration, but for all occasions. Made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, this pale yellow Champagne has fine bubbles, floral aromas, and a fruity finish.

Champagne Jacquart Mosaic Rosé- Intense salmon pink, with delicate aromas and captivating flavors. I really love this rosé for it’s red berry fruit and plum aromas followed by a full, peachy finish. This wine paired beautifully with Grilled Squid and Sweet Potato Falafel

Champagne Jacquart Blanc de Blanc- 100% Chardonnay from an outstanding harvest, this Blanc de Blanc is a wine not to miss from the Jacquart collection. This wine has a nose of white pepper, flowers, and yeast with mouthwatering citrus and peach flavors. The finish is long, light, and elegant; it’s a beautiful Champagne. This wine paired perfectly with the Grilled Branzino at Claudette

Champagne Jacquart Cuvee Alpha- To make this cuvée, it takes imagination, meticulous care… and time.” Floriane Eznack. This is a Champagne that can age, so if you have the patience, I suggest laying some aside to see for yourself! The wine is comprised of Chardonnay grapes come from villages that are classified as Premiers Crus, and Pinots Noir grapes that are exclusively from the Mailly and Verzenay Grands Crus on the Montagne de Reims. This wine sees six years aging on the lees and produces a wine that is delicate and attractive with honeysuckle orange, and licorice notes. There is nice minerality and salinity notes in this wine, which follow through to the palate.

Interested in tasting some Champagne Jacquart for yourself? These Champagne’s make great gifts as well as start at around $36.00- Mosaic Brut and up!
