Ben & Jack’s Steakhouse

New York is known for it’s fine restaurants, eclectic eateries, and trendy spots. When one restaurant closes here, another one opens… it’s just how it is here. Thankfully Ben & Jack’s Steakhouse has remained true to it’s roots and mission of providing,” Classic dishes prepared to perfection, prime dry-aged steaks, classic steakhouse menu, delectable seafood and exemplary customer service.” -Benandjackssteakhouse.com

In 2005 they opened their flagship near Grand Central Station, and in 2009 the second location on 5th avenue. The second location is a larger, two story steakhouse thats centrally located near the Empire State Building and Penn Station. Here you will find a mix of New Yorkers, business professionals, tourists, and more. I had the pleasure of sitting down to discuss the business with Executive Chef Admir, who is an intricate part of this family owned business. He works hard and loves the restaurant industry, waking up very early every morning to source the best seafood and ingredients for the days service.

The restaurant has an inviting atmosphere and extensive wine list that will not disappoint. Here I enjoyed a glass of Provence Rosé paired with the Sesame Crusted Yellowfin Tuna. The balsamic reduction and wasabi on the plate was a beautiful compliment to the tuna and made for a nice presentation. I also enjoyed the Sizzling Canadian Bacon appetizer, which is a must order if you are here and enjoy thick slabs of delicious bacon!

Usually at a steakhouse my go-to’s are filet mignon or lamb chops when it comes to ordering off the menu. I really do enjoy seafood, and the fresh offerings at Ben and Jack’s are certainly delicious, but this time I had to go with my gut and order the Filet Mignon. It was of course, perfectly cooked to a sizzling medium rare, and served with sides of my choice. I decided on the Mac and Cheese as well as the Creamed Spinach; two of my absolute favorite steakhouse sides. As I expected, the service, food, and overall experience was nothing short of fabulous! I enjoyed a big, full bodied glass of Tempranillo, which paired perfectly with my steak and sides.

If you’re seeking a steakhouse experience that will impress and excite with delectable dishes, outstanding service, and quality cuisine, Ben and Jack’s Steakhouse is a prime choice!
