New York City is known for having elegant, eclectic, and exciting hotel bars. I recently discovered a wonderful bar in the lobby of the Arthouse Hotel, on Broadway in the Upper West Side. This bar seats about twenty people and also has great cushioned chairs and a sitting lounge. Whether you’re stopping in for a great glass of wine, or simply want a space to catch up with old friends, Arthouse Winebar is a great spot to do so.

I met with the owner Sam, who is a Comedian as well as the Beverage Director for Arthouse Hotel, NYC. He is also a Sommelier, so we had no problem diving right into the unique wine list. He sources his wines in a boutique fashion, offering limited selection wines, from lesser-known production areas, and offers great wine descriptions on the menu. Whether you’re a newbie, wine lover, or expert, you will absolutely love the menu both by the glass and bottle offerings. The prices are incredible for the area, and this is because the mission is for you to enjoy a great glass of wine!

If you’re hungry, they do offer pizzas from Oath’s Pizza, a partner restaurant. You can order them at the wine bar, as well as some small bites, which are really delicious. I was impressed with the service as well as the partnership because it’s hard to sometimes find both in this neighborhood. The Upper West Side is a great area, filled with a more suburban vibe. This quiet neighborhood is perfect for a spot like this, and I will absolutely be frequenting this wine bar every time I am up in the area.

For those of you looking for a chic wine bar, with a cozy vibe, and a unique wine list, head to Arthouse Hotel! You won’t find these wines on many lists in NYC, so be sure to check it out, and have fun tasting some really cool wines!
